The United States Capitol

The National Cathedral in Northwest Washington, D.C. When I first moved to this area, I lived in an apartment right across the street from the Cathedral.

The Supreme Court.

The canal in Georgetown. The path next to the canal follows the canal all the way into West Virginia, and the scenery along the way is beautiful. The canal parallels the Potomac River, and passes by Little Falls and Great Falls, two spectacular spots for scenery.

Tourists line up to enter the National Archives, where the original Old Glory is located. It looks like it's going to be a long wait! Actually, these are spectators waiting for a parade.

The Building Museum. The museum itself isn't terribly interesting compared to the many other museums in the area, unless you are interested in looking at architectural drawings and old photos of the city, but the pillars inside look impressive.

If you do some exploring off the beaten path, you will find some interesting sites. Here is a cemetary in Northwest D.C. to honor the passing of their beloved pets.

Bands line up for a parade with the Washington Monument and the Smithsonian Castle in the background.

Celebrities, such as Olive Oil, frequently visit Washington, D.C. She seems so small on TV, but is larger than life in person!

Another picture "off the beaten path" from Northwest Washington, D.C.

Skaters take advantage of a sunny, but chilly, winter day to skate in front of the Capitol Building. It rarely snows in D.C.

A view from inside the Rules Committee in the Russell Senate Building. When I first came to Washington, D.C. I worked for the Rules Committee for about a year.

Bill and Hillary's place at the time, now George's and Laura's. They closed the street behind the White House on the opposite end after the Oklahoma bombing for security reasons. The commuters were not very happy about the closing of this heavily traveled street, but I took advantage of the closing, along with several others, to rollerblade in front of the White House.
